Classes in making sushi and Japanese food

Learn how to make sushi with Kumiko Hatori in her Glasgow home. See and learn how Japanese cuisine comes together with simple techniques and graceful style. Take home and eat the results.

What you make in the class:

  • 20 pieces of Nigiri (gripped sushi) with two or three different kinds of fish.
  • 36 pieces of Maki (rolled sushi) with fish and vegetables.

This will be enough to serve at dinner that evening for your family or friends.

Tools and equipment:

We provide all the tools and equipment. We can recommend tools and suppliers if you want to purchase your own. If you want to take your sushi home bring some “tupperware”.

The course costs £75 per person for a three-hour class.

Sushi class

All materials provided, including: sushi rice, organic rice vinegar, sea salt, sugar, wasabi, seaweed, vegetables and various fish. Or if you are a vegetarian: dried shitake mushroom, dried guard, cucumber, avocado, smoked tofu, ume paste.
